
JSW Infrastructure Receives LOI for All-Weather Port Development in Maharashtra
JSW Infrastructure Ltd. has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from the Maharashtra Maritime Board for the development, operation, management, and maintenance of an all-weather and multipurpose port at Murbe in Palghar District of Maharashtra. The project, to be developed on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis under the Design, Built, Own, Operate and Transfer (DBOOT) Model, is subject to the fulfillment of terms and conditions. The LOI is valid for 24 months, with a further extension clause, and the royalty payable is based on per metric ton, which will be escalated in the block period of 5 years. The proposed port is designed to be an all-weather, multi-cargo commercial port, located near major highways and rail corridors, and is expected to significantly enhance economic activity and create jobs in the region. This development aligns with the company’s FY2030 growth plan to increase capacity from 170 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 400 MTPA.
