Jupiter Wagons Secures 100 MW/400 MWh BESS Capacity in West Bengal

Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL) has won two standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects totaling 100 MW/400 MWh in West Bengal, through WBSEDCL's e-reverse auctions. The projects, located at Jeerat and Kharagpur, will be executed and operated by JWL's subsidiary, JEM Energy, under a 15-year BOO model. This significant win increases JEM Energy's BESS order book to over 500 MWh, valued at more than ₹500 crore, with a target of ₹1,000 crore by FY27. The development aligns with JWL's strategy to expand into high-growth businesses and strengthens its position in India's rapidly growing energy storage market.
