Just Dial fined ₹10 Lakh by CCPA for listing hazardous substance

Just Dial Ltd has received an order from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) imposing a penalty of ₹10 Lakh under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The penalty is for alleged violation related to the online listing and hosting of Ammonium Nitrate, a regulated and hazardous substance, on Just Dial's platform. The CCPA has directed the company to immediately discontinue the listing of ammonium nitrate or any other explosive substance. Just Dial has complied with this directive and is currently reviewing the order. The company stated that the financial impact is limited to the penalty amount and there is no impact on its operations or other activities. The order was received via email on October 28, 2026.
