KRBL Ltd Ordered to Pay SAR 30,990,241.25 and USD 21,51,399.15 in Arbitration Case

KRBL Ltd, the World’s Largest Rice Millers & Basmati Rice Exporters, has been ordered by the Arbitral Tribunal to pay a sum of SAR 30,990,241.25 and USD 21,51,399.15 to Reliable Trading Company (RTC) in an arbitration case. The proceedings were initiated by RTC, who was aggrieved by KRBL’s action of terminating the Distributorship Agreements dated 14 January 2022 and 21 May 2022. The Arbitral Tribunal delivered its award on 26 February 2026, ruling in favour of RTC. KRBL has initiated the process of obtaining legal advice to challenge the award under Section 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, within the statutory time limit.
