L&T Energy GreenTech inks 300K TPA green ammonia deal with ITOCHU
L&T Energy GreenTech Ltd (LTEGL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has signed a long-term partnership with Japan's ITOCHU Corporation. Under the agreement, LTEGL will supply ITOCHU with 300,000 tonnes of green ammonia per annum on a captive long-term take-or-pay basis from its proposed facility in Kandla, Gujarat. This agreement builds on a Joint Development Agreement from July 2025, solidifying the partnership from joint development to securing long-term demand. ITOCHU plans to use the green ammonia for its expanding green bunkering applications, particularly in Singapore, to decarbonize the maritime sector. The deal reinforces LTEGL's strategy to scale its green hydrogen and derivatives platform, positioning Kandla as a strategic export hub for low-carbon fuels, aligning with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.
