
Lloyds Metals and Energy Reports Highest-Ever Quarterly Iron Ore Production
Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL) has reported its highest-ever quarterly iron ore production, achieving 4 million tonnes in Q1 FY 2024-25. This marks a 6% year-on-year (YoY) increase and a 162% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) rise. The company's Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) production also saw a 16% YoY growth, reaching 76,000 tonnes. LMEL, incorporated in 1977, is a DRI manufacturer and one of the largest iron ore miners by volume in India. It has a 3,40,000TPA annual installed capacity for DRI and 34MW of combined capacity of waste heat recovery based ('WHRB') power plants. The company has a current permitted extraction capacity of 10 MTPA of iron ore over an area of 348.09 Ha. at Surjagarh Village, Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra.
