Maruti Suzuki Inaugurates Kharkhoda Plant, Invests ₹35,000 Cr

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has inaugurated its advanced vehicle manufacturing facility at IMT Kharkhoda, Haryana. The facility, spread over 800 acres, was inaugurated by Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Sanae Takaichi via video conferencing. Initially with a capacity of 0.5 million units, it is planned to scale up to 1 million units per annum with a total investment of INR 35,000 crore. At full scale, it will be among the world's largest vehicle manufacturing facilities. The plant incorporates the 'Suzuki Smart Factory' concept and Industry 5.0 principles, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity, with 100% electricity from renewable sources. It is projected to create over 21,000 jobs and significantly contribute to Maruti Suzuki's ambition of four million units annual production capacity.
