
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd Approves Capacity Addition of 2,50,000 Vehicles Per Annum
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, in a recent development, has approved the addition of the first phase of capacity at Khoraj Industrial Estate. The new capacity will be 2,50,000 vehicles per annum, expected to be added by 2029, subject to market conditions. The total existing capacity is around 24 Lac units per annum in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda and Hansalpur, with a capability to produce 26 Lac units per annum. The existing capacity is fully utilized. The investment required for this expansion is INR 10,189 Crores, which includes investment for the first phase of a car manufacturing plant having an annual manufacturing capacity of 250,000 units and some common infrastructure and facilities for future plants. The mode of financing is internal accruals. The rationale behind this growth is the increase in market demand, including exports.
