SEBI Issues Order Against Mediaone Global Entertainment Ltd

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued an order concerning Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited (MGEL) and several other noticees. The investigation stemmed from irregularities found in Eros International Media Limited (EIML), including fund diversion and manipulation of financial statements. A significant write-off of ₹63.61 crore by EIML towards advances given to MGEL for film co-production arrangements, which exceeded MGEL's asset base and was disproportionate to its negligible revenues, triggered a detailed examination of their financial dealings. MGEL, a Chennai-based media and entertainment company, has a history of trading suspension and liquidation proceedings, which have since been lifted.
