NALCO Partners with EGA for Smelter Tech Upgrade

National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) has signed a technology partnership agreement with Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) to deploy EGA's DX+ Ultra aluminium smelting technology. This technology will be used for NALCO's 0.5 million TPA brownfield smelter expansion project at Anugola, Odisha. The agreement includes technology license, know-how, designs, and technical support. The DX+ Ultra technology is known for its high amperage, efficiency, higher productivity, and improved energy performance. This expansion is expected to increase NALCO's total aluminium production capacity to approximately 1 million tonnes per annum, enhancing its global competitiveness and contributing to India's economic growth.
