Nephrocare Subsidiary Faces ₹14.79 Cr Tax Demand in Uzbekistan

Nephrocare Health Services Central Asia LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nephrocare Health Services Limited, has received a tax demand of UZS 18,268,141,892 (approximately ₹14.79 crore) from the Tashkent City Tax Department, Uzbekistan. The demand includes net additional taxes of UZS 14,204,055,360 (approx. ₹11.50 crore) and a penalty of UZS 4,064,086,532 (approx. ₹3.29 crore). The company believes the demand arose from a discrepancy in revenue data related to tax exemption eligibility for dialysis services. Nephrocare is undertaking reconciliation and evaluating legal remedies, opining that the order should be set aside and will not materially impact its financial position.
