
NLC India Ltd. Approves Rs. 1,630.89 Crore Investment in Wholly Owned Subsidiary NLC India Renewables Ltd. for Green Energy Projects Funding
NLC India Ltd. has approved an in principle investment of up to Rs. 1,630.89 Crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Ltd. (NIRL), for funding Green Energy Projects. The decision was made at a Board Meeting held on July 7, 2025. The investment will be made in one or more tranches by subscribing to equity shares at face value, subject to necessary approvals from DIPAM and other authorities. The meeting also approved the appointment of Sundaram & Srinivasan, Chartered Accountants, as Tax Auditors for the Financial Year 2024-25 and the borrowing of a Term Loan in Japanese Yen equivalent to USD 100 Million through External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) for CAPEX funding of renewable projects.
