
NUPPL Achieves Major Milestone with Successful Synchronization of Unit-2 at Ghatampur Thermal Power Project
Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NUPPL), a Joint Venture Company between NLC India Limited (51%) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) (49%), has successfully completed the 'TG Rolling & Synchronization' milestone of Unit-2 (660 MW) of its 1,980 MW Ghatampur Thermal Power Project with the 765 kV grid. This achievement marks a crucial step forward in NUPPL's journey toward the Commercial Operation Declaration (COD), and underlines NUPPL's commitment to deliver reliable and sustainable power generation for the nation. The project is designed to supply 75.12% of its power (1,487.28 MW) to Uttar Pradesh and 24.88% (492.72 MW) to the state of Assam. The main plant boiler package is executed by M/s LMBPL, turbine package by M/s GEPSIPL and BOP package by M/s BGRESL. The project also features supercritical boiler and turbine-generator sets, along with FGD and SCR technologies, ensuring Zero Liquid Discharge.
