
NTPC Green Energy Inks MoU with Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company for Renewable Energy Parks
In a significant development for the renewable energy sector, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 24th February 2025. The MoU was exchanged at the Global Investors Summit, 2025 in Bhopal. The collaboration aims to develop Renewable Energy Parks/Projects, contributing to the Government of India's energy transition efforts. The MoU envisions setting up projects comprising of Solar, Wind, Hybrid with or without storage up to 20 GW or more in Madhya Pradesh. Both entities will work together to form a Joint Venture Company (JVC) to meet the Renewable Generation Obligation (RGO) of Madhya Pradesh Generating Company and Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) of Madhya Pradesh DISCOMs.
