Orient Paper & Industries to Amend Articles of Association for Electricity Generation

Orient Paper & Industries Limited has informed the Stock Exchange about the proposed amendment to its Articles of Association. The amendment aims to incorporate enabling provisions for the Company to undertake electricity generation, in alignment with the requirements prescribed under the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Verification of Captive Generating Plants and Captive Users) Regulations, 2023. The new sub-article 94A, if approved, will authorize the Company to set up, purchase or otherwise acquire, and manage electricity generation plants and facilities, and to generate, accumulate, distribute, supply, sell or otherwise deal with electricity of all kinds. This amendment is required to ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements for maintaining the captive generating plant status of the Company’s 55 MW power plant located at Amlai, District Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh.
