Panacea Biotec Launches DENSTAR Project for Dengue Vaccine in Africa
Panacea Biotec has launched the DENSTAR project, a four-year initiative aimed at advancing the licensure of its dengue vaccine, DengiAll®, in sub-Saharan Africa (sSA) and facilitating its global use. Funded by the Global Health European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership 3 Joint Undertaking (GH EDCTP3 JU), the project aligns with the EDCTP3 mission to combat Neglected Tropical Diseases. The DENSTAR consortium, comprising 10 partners from 9 countries, will conduct Phase I/III studies in Africa to confirm the vaccine's safety and efficacy. This public-private partnership seeks to reduce the dengue disease burden and ensure equitable access to prevention tools, with DengiAll® offering advantages like single-dose and cost-efficiency for widespread deployment.
