Patanjali Foods Ltd Wins Supreme Court Case Against Income Tax Department, Quashing Demands of Rs. 186 Crores

Patanjali Foods Ltd has won a significant case against the Income Tax Department. The Supreme Court dismissed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Central 4 against an order passed by the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay. The dispute was regarding demands of Rs. 186 crores for various assessment years, which were raised during the pre-Corporate Insolvency Resolution process (CIRP) period. The NCLT had quashed such demands, and the Bombay High Court had dismissed a Writ Petition filed by the Deptt. The SLP was dismissed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, upholding the previous orders.
