Patel Engineering Signs MoU with Arunachal Pradesh Government for 144 MW Gongri Hydropower Project Revival

Patel Engineering Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for the restoration and development of the 144 MW Gongri Hydropower Project in West Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. The project is estimated to be worth Rs. 1,700 crores and will take around 4 years for completion. The Gongri HEP is the first project to be revived under the 'Arunachal Pradesh Restoration of Terminated Large Hydropower Policy under Special Circumstances, 2025.' The project will be implemented on a BOOT (Build-Own-Operate-Transfer) basis for a lease period of 40 years. The revival of the project is aimed at making the sector a key contributor to the state’s economy and generating clean energy, creating employment opportunities, improving local infrastructure, and contributing to sustainable development in the region.
