Piramal Finance Appoints Ex-SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara as Director

Piramal Finance Limited announced the appointment of Mr. Dinesh Khara, former Chairman of State Bank of India, as a Non-Executive Independent Director. The appointment is effective from October 19, 2026, for a term of 5 years, subject to shareholder approval. Mr. Khara brings nearly four decades of experience in banking and financial services, having led significant financial and digital transformations at SBI. His tenure at SBI saw substantial growth in market capitalization, return on equity, and a reduction in net non-performing assets. He also played a key role in the merger of SBI's associate banks and Bharatiya Mahila Bank. Currently, he serves as an Operating Advisor to the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and sits on the boards of other prominent companies. The company highlighted his commitment to responsible and inclusive finance.
