Polyplex Corporation Subsidiary Commissions Largest BOPET Thin Film Line in US
Polyplex Corporation Ltd. is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Polyplex USA LLC (PU), has successfully commissioned and started trial runs of a new brown field BOPET Thin film line with a capacity of 50,000 MT per annum. This addition takes PU's total capacity in the US to 81,000 MT per annum. Furthermore, the existing PET resin plant's capacity has been debottlenecked from 58,000 MT per annum to 86,000 MT per annum. Commercial production on these projects is expected to begin within a few days, with an aggregate capital expenditure of approximately USD 124 Million (excluding working capital), which has been met through internal accruals and borrowings. This move makes PU the largest and most cost-competitive producer of BOPET thin films in the US.
