Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has acquired Krishnagiri REZ Transmission Limited for an aggregate value of approximately ₹19.82 Crore. This acquisition, completed on August 3, 2026, was made under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route. Krishnagiri REZ Transmission Limited is a Project SPV established to build, own, operate, and transfer an Inter-State Transmission system for the "Transmission System for integration of Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I". The project involves establishing new 765/400kV Sub-stations and constructing 765kV & 400kV transmission lines across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. The acquisition is aligned with POWERGRID's core business of power transmission and is not a related party transaction. Approvals for the grant of transmission license and adoption of transmission charges are pending from the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
