Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd Acquires SR WR Power Transmission Limited for Rs. 11.29 Crore

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID) has acquired SR WR Power Transmission Limited (SRWRPTL) on 17.10.2025. The acquisition was made under Tariff based competitive bidding route for an aggregate value of about Rs. 11.29 Crore. The project comprises 765 kV D/c Transmission Lines traversing in the states of Karnataka & Maharashtra along with associated line bays at both ends. SRWRPTL was incorporated on 01.07.2025 and is yet to start commercial operation. POWERGRID had no promoter/ promoter group/ group companies interest in the entity being acquired. Approvals for Grant of Transmission License and Adoption of Transmission Charges are to be obtained from Central Electricity Regulatory Commission by SRWRPTL after the acquisition by POWERGRID.
