Power Grid wins TBCB bid for Krishnagiri REZ transmission project
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been declared the successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) for establishing an Inter-State Transmission System. The project, named "Transmission System for integration of Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I", will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. POWERGRID received the Letter of Intent (LoI) on July 10th, 2026. The project involves setting up two new 765/400kV substations in Andhra Pradesh and constructing 765kV & 400kV transmission lines, along with associated bays, across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. This win is expected to bolster POWERGRID's transmission infrastructure and contribute to renewable energy integration.
