POWERGRID Acquires SR and ER Power Transmission Limited for Rs. 19.63 Crore

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID) has acquired SR and ER Power Transmission Limited (SRERPTL) for an aggregate value of Rs. 19.63 Crore. The acquisition was made under the Tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) route and was completed on 03.02.2026. SRERPTL is engaged in the business of power transmission, similar to POWERGRID. The project comprises 765 kV D/c Transmission Lines traversing in the states of Odisha & Andhra Pradesh along with associated line bays and reactors works at both ends. The acquisition does not fall under related party transactions and POWERGRID had no interest in SRERPTL prior to acquisition. SRERPTL was incorporated on 22.08.2025 and is yet to start commercial operation. It will be operating in India.
