Quint Digital Q2FY27: consolidated loss widens YoY to ₹2.9 Cr despite revenue jump
Quint Digital's consolidated revenue came in at ₹36.78 Cr, up 371.9% YoY (₹7.79 Cr) and 5.7% QoQ (₹34.80 Cr), but the YoY jump is not organic growth: Quintype Technologies Inc (QT Inc, US) converted from an equity-accounted joint venture to a fully consolidated subsidiary effective October 1, 2025, so the year-ago Q2 FY26 base excluded QT Inc's revenue and losses entirely. The group posted a consolidated loss for the period of ₹2.86 Cr (EPS -₹1.06), narrower than Q1 FY27's ₹2.97 Cr loss (QoQ loss narrowed ~3.6%) but far deeper than the near-breakeven ₹0.04 Cr loss booked a year earlier, before QT Inc sat inside consolidation. Loss attributable to owners of the parent was ₹5.12 Cr, cushioned by ₹2.26 Cr of profit attributable to non-controlling interests at the newly consolidated subsidiaries. Net margin (PAT/total income) was -7.4% this quarter versus -7.6% in Q1 (a marginal QoQ improvement) but -0.36% a year ago — the YoY compression tracks both the consolidation-scope change and a sharp rise in finance costs, which climbed to ₹5.12 Cr consolidated from ₹0.57 Cr a year ago as the company carries new debt and equity-linked instruments from its Rights Issue (CCPS and detachable warrants, final ₹5/warrant call approved October 9, 2026) and ₹50 Cr of NCDs allotted in July 2026. At the segment level, Media and Technology operations swung to a ₹2.72 Cr profit from a ₹2.32 Cr loss a year ago, while the pre-revenue Operated Market (Times Out) segment's loss widened sharply to ₹3.70 Cr from ₹0.18 Cr YoY — the segment mix shows where the group's underlying operating business is improving and where the drag sits. Standalone, the parent reported a steeper ₹6.51 Cr loss including a ₹2.68 Cr impairment on financial assets with no equivalent in Q1 or the year-ago quarter, meaning subsidiary-level results — not the parent — are what keep the consolidated loss from being wider. Management issued no formal numeric profit guidance for Q1/FY27 at its AGM, instead targeting ~155% revenue growth for FY27 and a multi-year claim of "multiple growth on top line and bigger multiple on bottom line" if its three verticals perform to plan. This quarter's 371.9% YoY revenue growth runs well ahead of that full-year pace, continuing the trend from Q1's 335% growth, but the bottom-line half of management's claim is not yet showing up — the group remains loss-making with a YoY-wider loss, not a profit multiple. A web search found no brokerage previews or consensus estimates for this micro-cap (last quoted market cap ~₹185 Cr), so street comparison is unknown rather than a miss. During the quarter the company completed Rights Issue reporting, listed its partly-paid CCPS and detachable warrants on BSE (trading from September 18, 2026), and approved the final warrant call on October 9, 2026 — all tied to the capital raise behind the higher finance costs above. No company press release accompanying this result was available to cross-check management's own framing of the print. The quarter sets up a test of whether the India launch of Time Out Market — flagged in the filing as expected to "commence revenue operations during the current financial year" — can narrow the Operated Market segment's ₹3.70 Cr quarterly loss, and whether Media and Technology's swing to profitability can scale enough to offset it and move the consolidated group toward breakeven.
Key Highlights
- Consolidated revenue ₹36.78 Cr, +371.9% YoY / +5.7% QoQ — but the YoY surge is driven by QT Inc's Oct-2025 shift from JV to consolidated subsidiary, not like-for-like organic growth
- Consolidated loss ₹2.86 Cr (EPS -₹1.06); loss narrowed ~3.6% QoQ from ₹2.97 Cr but widened sharply YoY from a near-breakeven ₹0.04 Cr loss (pre-consolidation base)
- Media & Technology segment swung to a ₹2.72 Cr profit (from a ₹2.32 Cr loss YoY); Operated Market (Times Out) segment loss widened to ₹3.70 Cr (from ₹0.18 Cr YoY) on pre-revenue build-out
- Finance costs jumped to ₹5.12 Cr consolidated from ₹0.57 Cr YoY, driven by the Rights Issue CCPS/warrants and ₹50 Cr of NCDs — the single biggest drag on the bottom line
- Standalone (parent) loss of ₹6.51 Cr is nearly 2.3x the consolidated loss, weighed by a ₹2.68 Cr impairment on financial assets absent in Q1 and the year-ago quarter
- Revenue growth (371.9% YoY) continues to outpace management's ~155% FY27 target, but the group stays loss-making — the "bigger multiple on bottom line" part of management's claim is unmet so far
- Rights Issue CCPS and detachable warrants began trading on BSE from September 18, 2026; board approved the final ₹5/warrant call on October 9, 2026, completing that capital raise
