RailTel Fined ₹18 Lakh by NSE & BSE for Governance Non-Compliance

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has been fined ₹9,00,340 (inclusive of GST) by both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited (BSE) for non-compliance with SEBI LODR Regulations 17(1), 18(1), and 19(1)/(2) for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company states that the non-compliance regarding Board composition is beyond its control, as directors, including independent directors, are appointed by the President of India through the Ministry of Railways. RailTel has made requests to the Ministry for the appointment of requisite directors. The total fine amounts to ₹18,00,680. The company asserts that this has no impact on its financial or operational activities.
