Rain Carbon Partners BioBTX for Renewable Aromatics

Rain Industries Limited's subsidiary, Rain Carbon Inc., has entered into a strategic collaboration with BioBTX BV to produce and supply renewable aromatic products to the chemical industry. BioBTX will construct a commercial-scale plant in the Netherlands, utilizing its proprietary ICCP technology to convert plastic waste into approximately 10,000 tonnes per year of renewable aromatic oil. Rain Carbon will then process this oil into benzene, phthalic anhydride, and other derivatives, offering sustainable, drop-in solutions for various industries. This partnership aims to support the transition towards more circular and sustainable value chains, reducing the carbon footprint of supply chains without compromising product performance. The plant is expected to be operational by early 2028.
