RCFL Faces ₹171.54 Cr Impact from Revised Energy Norms

Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd (RCFL) has received a notification from the Department of Fertilizers (DoF) regarding revised energy norms applicable under the Urea Pricing Policy. The energy norm for the company's Thai Unit has been reduced from 6.200 Gcal PMT to 5.984 Gcal PMT, effective April 1, 2025, until March 31, 2028. This revision is estimated to have an adverse financial impact of approximately ₹171.54 crore, comprising ₹132.52 crore for FY 2025-26 and ₹39.02 crore for Q1 of FY 2026-27. The company's Trombay Unit's energy norm remains unchanged. The impact is preliminary and subject to detailed evaluation and accounting treatment.
