Reliance Industries Ltd has clarified a news item regarding a Supreme Court order. The company stated that no fine or penalty was levied on it by the Supreme Court. The operative part of the order dated August 14, 2026, indicated that the appeal was dismissed with costs quantified at Rs. 10 lakhs, payable by the appellant (RIL) to the Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association. This amount was to be paid within five weeks. Reliance asserts that this did not necessitate a disclosure under SEBI regulations as it was not a fine or penalty on the company.
