Jio Platforms Ranks Top 20 in WIPO Patents

Jio Platforms (JPL), the technology arm of Reliance Industries Limited, has entered the global top 20 in the latest World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Patent Co-operation Treaty (PCT) rankings for 2025. JPL climbed 320 places, becoming one of the fastest-rising innovators globally and the only Indian technology innovator to achieve this. The company's patent portfolio focuses on next-generation digital technologies including 5G, AI, and cloud-native platforms. As of March 31, 2026, Jio had cumulatively filed 6,817 patents, with 1,009 granted globally. This achievement signifies India's growing role in global technology creation.
