Motherson Secures Government Incentives Under ECMS for Consumer Electronics Enclosures Production
Motherson Electronic Components Private Limited (MECPL), a subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL), has successfully secured incentives under the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme. MECPL has been included among the beneficiaries of the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) for the production of enclosures for the consumer electronics industry. The incentives, lasting six years from FY 26 to FY 31, amount to an expected cumulative investment of Rs. 1,900 crores, and are expected to create over 5,000 employment opportunities at the Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu plant.
