Siemens Ltd Wins GST Litigation: Supreme Court Dismisses SLP

Siemens Ltd has successfully concluded its Goods and Services Tax (GST) litigation. The company received a show cause notice in September 2025 for a proposed GST levy of ₹34.83 crore, along with interest and penalty, related to the transfer of its leasehold interest in a property in Halol, Gujarat. While the Gujarat High Court had previously quashed this notice, the GST Department filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) with the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has now dismissed this SLP, bringing the litigation to a favorable close for Siemens Ltd. The company received the order on August 20, 2026.
