Siemens Ltd Wins Legal Battle Against GST Authority, SCN Quashed by Gujarat High Court

Siemens Ltd has won a legal battle against the GST authority as the Gujarat High Court quashed a show cause notice (SCN) issued by the Joint Commissioner, Central GST & Excise, Vadodara Commissionerate. The SCN proposed to levy GST amounting to Rs. 34,83,00,000 along with applicable interest and penalty under section 74 of Central Goods & Service Tax Act, 2017. The SCN was in relation to the transfer and assignment of the Company’s leasehold interest in the property located at Halol, Gujarat. The Company had filed a Writ Petition challenging the SCN, and the Hon’ble High Court, following its earlier decisions on similar matters, has quashed the SCN vide its order dated 21St November 2025 (issued on 26' November 2025).
