
SJVN Ltd Subsidiary Achieves Commercial Operation Date of 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project
SJVN Ltd's wholly owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has achieved the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. The project, developed on 5,000 acres of outright-purchased land, will generate 2,454.55 million units of electricity in its first year and approximately 56,838 million units cumulatively over 25 years. The maximum usage charges have been fixed at INR 2.57 per unit. The project, costing INR 35,492 crore, has been developed under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode, supporting the Make in India initiative. The commissioning of this project significantly contributes towards the Government of India’s target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and will result in an estimated reduction of 27,85,077 tonnes of carbon emissions.
