Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lays foundation stone of SJVN’s 200 MW Solar Power Project in Gujarat

In a significant event, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone of SJVN’s 200 MW Solar Power Project (GUVNL Phase — XVII, Khavda Solar Park) at Khavda, Gujarat. The project, situated in Khavda Solar Park, is being developed by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) and will supply power to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for 25 years at a tariff of Rs. 2.88/ Unit. The project is expected to generate 504.92 million units of electricity in the first year and a cumulative 11,620 million units over 25 years, reducing carbon emissions by about 5,69,250 tonnes. The project is scheduled to be commissioned by 31st December 2026, contributing to India’s commitment towards achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and Net Zero emissions by 2070.
