
SJVN Receives Letter of Intent for 200 MW Solar Project from GUVNL
SJVN Ltd, a joint venture between the Indian and Himachal Pradesh governments, announced that its renewable arm, SJVN Green Energy Limited, has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a 200 MW solar project. The project, to be developed at Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) Solar Park at Khavda, was won through a tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by GUVNL on March 2, 2024, at a tariff of Rs. 2.66 per unit on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis. The anticipated cost of construction and development of the project is Rs. 1100 Crores and is expected to be commissioned within 18 months of signing the Power Purchase Agreement with GUVNL. The solar project is projected to generate 508.40 million units of electricity in the first 15 years and approximately 11698.16 million units over a period of 25 years. Upon commissioning, it is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 573210 tonnes annually.
