Skipper Q2 FY27: PAT +57% YoY (adj. ~22%) to ₹58 Cr; revenue growth lags FY27 guidance
Skipper Limited's consolidated PAT came in at ₹58.0 Cr for Q2 FY27, up 56.7% YoY from ₹37.0 Cr and up 2.2% QoQ from ₹56.8 Cr, on consolidated revenue of ₹1,384.0 Cr (+9.7% YoY, +5.7% QoQ). The headline YoY PAT jump is flattered by base effects: Q2 FY26 carried a ₹10.68 Cr exceptional charge that this quarter has none of. Stripping that out, adjusted YoY PAT growth is closer to ~22%, and on a half-year basis (H1 FY27 PAT ₹114.9 Cr vs an adjusted H1 FY26 of roughly ₹103.6 Cr) growth slows further to ~11% — both well under the 30% PAT growth management reiterated on the Q1 FY27 call as recently as August 2026. Revenue tells a similar story: H1 FY27 revenue of ₹2,693.8 Cr is up only 7.1% YoY against the 15% full-year guide, so the company needs a sharp H2 acceleration to hold the target. Margins moved in different directions depending on where you look. Net margin expanded to 4.19% from 2.93% a year ago, aided by the absent one-off, a ₹0.59 Cr JV profit contribution, and lower finance costs (₹44.0 Cr this quarter, 3.18% of revenue, within management's guided 3.2-3.5% post-QIP range; H1 finance cost fell to ₹90.7 Cr from ₹106.5 Cr YoY as the ₹425 Cr preferential-issue proceeds reduced reliance on debt). But operating margin, on a segment-result basis, eased to roughly 10.4% this quarter from 10.7% last quarter and a reported 13.4% a year ago — so the net-margin improvement owes more to below-the-line items than to the core business getting more profitable. By segment, Infrastructure Projects was the standout (revenue +44.5% YoY to ₹215.4 Cr, segment result +61.6% to ₹12.9 Cr), Engineering Products — still ~75% of revenue — grew a modest 4.3% YoY to ₹1,040.4 Cr, and Polymer Products revenue grew 11.1% YoY to ₹128.2 Cr, trailing the 20% growth management had guided for that segment. No formal Street consensus for this specific quarter could be located in a web search, so vs-Street is marked unknown rather than guessed. Alongside the results, the board approved 100% acquisition of Chennai-based Sansha Fastener Pvt Ltd for ₹15.5 Cr (FY26 turnover ₹6.9 Cr) to add South India fastener capacity — a bolt-on, not a scale driver for this quarter's numbers. The quarter also saw R. N. Nayak's appointment as an independent director (Oct 12) and a GST demand rectified to ₹40.95 Cr (Oct 2), neither of which has a P&L impact this period. Taken together, the print is a steady but not a blowout quarter: adjusted profit growth and revenue growth are both running below the FY27 guidance pace, even as the headline reported PAT number looks strong against a weak prior-year base.
