
SETL Invests ₹70 Cr for 19.19% Stake in Japan's GL Hakko
Standard Engineering Technology Ltd (SETL) announced a strategic investment of INR 70 Crores (JPY 1,174 million) for an initial 19.19% equity stake in GL Hakko Co., Ltd., Japan. SETL also holds the right to acquire an additional 31.88% stake within three years. The investment, funded by internal accruals, will support GL Hakko's expansion in glass-lined shell and tube heat exchangers, semiconductor-grade process equipment, and clean room facilities. This move aligns with SETL's goal to become India's largest glass-lined equipment manufacturer by FY27 and strengthens its position in the global engineering solutions market for pharmaceutical and chemical industries. GL Hakko, a technology partner and shareholder of SETL, is Japan's sole specialist in glass-lined equipment.
