Sun Pharma Licenses Lerodalcibep Globally Ex-US/China; EU Approval

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has announced a global licensing, commercialization, and manufacturing agreement for lerodalcibep, a PCSK9 inhibitor, with LIB Therapeutics. The agreement grants Sun Pharma exclusive rights outside the United States and China. Lerodalcibep, branded as Lyrokaul in the EU, received EU approval on September 21, 2026, for hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. This deal significantly strengthens Sun Pharma's Innovative Medicines portfolio, tapping into a substantial PCSK9 market ex-US and China, projected to reach US$3.7 billion and growing at 38% CAGR. LIB Therapeutics will receive upfront and milestone payments, plus royalties. Lerodalcibep offers once-monthly dosing, ambient storage, and addresses a significant unmet need in cardiovascular care by helping patients achieve LDL-C goals.
