TCS conducts world's first large-scale AI hackathon for 10,000 non-engineering students in India

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has successfully conducted the world’s first large-scale AI hackathon designed for students with no coding or engineering background. The program engaged over 10,000 students from various non-engineering disciplines across 22 colleges in 10 states. The initiative aimed to empower non-technical students to participate in the rapidly evolving AI landscape and promote digital inclusion. By providing voice-first AI tools in 9 Indian languages, participants were able to identify real-world challenges and develop prototypes within 90 to 120 minutes. The flagship Tata Bharat YUVAi Hackathon at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 brought together nearly 2,000 students to showcase their prototypes and upskill further.
