Tata Power Company Ltd has completed the first tranche of its acquisition in Khorlochhu Hydro Power Limited (KHPL) by investing INR 120 crore. This strategic investment is in line with Tata Power's commitment to clean and green energy transition. Post-acquisition, KHPL will become an associate company of Tata Power, making it a related party. The acquisition is in the power sector and is expected to support the company's acceleration towards clean energy. The remaining tranches of the acquisition will be completed over a period of five years. KHPL, incorporated in 2015, has a net worth of Nu. 6,080 million as of December 31, 2024. No governmental or regulatory approvals were required for this acquisition.
