Tata Power Invests INR 50 Crore in First Tranche of Dorjilung Hydro Power Limited Acquisition

Tata Power Company Ltd has invested INR 50 crore in the first tranche of a proposed acquisition of a 40% equity stake in Dorjilung Hydro Power Limited (DHPL), a Special Purpose Vehicle. The total investment is approximately INR 1,572 crore. Post-acquisition, DHPL will become an associate company of Tata Power, making it a related party. The acquisition is for the development of the 1125 MW Dorjilung Hydro Power Project in Bhutan at a project cost of INR 13,100 crore. The first tranche has been completed, with the remaining tranches to be completed over a period of six years. DHPL is based in Bhutan and has a date of incorporation of December 8, 2025. It has a nil turnover and net worth as of now.
