Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd has executed a 99-year lease agreement with the Governor of West Bengal for approximately 40.009 acres of land in Uttarpara, West Bengal. The land, valued at €126.63 Crores, is contiguous to the company's existing Uttarpara manufacturing facility and will be used for establishing extra production infrastructure, forming, testing, and commissioning of metro coaches and Vande Bharat trains. This will ensure comprehensive performance and safety validation, including a test track for dynamic and running tests of all trains before delivery for passenger use. The additional land is critical for implementing the passenger rolling stock business of the company for the Indian infrastructure space, including metro coaches, Vande Bharat coaches, and specialized rolling stock for the Indian defence.
