Torrent Power Ltd Receives Demand Order of ₹ 94.71 Crs from Office of Additional Commissioner, Agra, Lucknow

Torrent Power Ltd has received a demand order dated March 27, 2026 from the Office of the Additional Commissioner, Agra, Lucknow, CBIC, State : Uttar Pradesh. The demand is for ₹ 94.71 Crs of CGST & SGST for the period from April 2019 to September 2024 under the provision of Section 74 & 74A of CGST Act 2017 read with Section 74 & 74A of UPGST Act 2017 read with Section 20 of IGST of 2017 in relation to GST on rent on immoveable properties and on incidental and ancillary services. The department has also imposed a penalty of similar amount of ₹ 94.71 Crs under Section 74, 74A, 122 of CGST Act, 2017 read with Section 74 & 74A of the UPGST Act read with Section 20 of IGST Act, 2017. The Company will challenge the order and file an appeal against the said order, stating that there is no material financial impact.
