Triveni Engineering fined ₹22.9 Lakhs by CGST

Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd. has disclosed an order dated October 19, 2026, from the Assistant Commissioner, CGST Division, Shamli. The order imposes a penalty of ₹22,92,399/- under the Central Goods & Service Tax Act, 2017, and Uttar Pradesh Goods & Service Tax Act, 2017, on its Shamli Sugar Unit (erstwhile Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises Ltd.). The penalty is based on allegations of issuing tax invoices without actual supply of goods during FY 2020-21 and 2021-22. The company intends to appeal the order. Triveni Engineering states there is no impact on its financial, operational, or other activities.
