UltraTech Crosses 200 MTPA Cement Capacity, World's Largest Outside China

UltraTech Cement Limited announced it has surpassed 200 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of installed cement manufacturing capacity in India by commissioning three new grinding units today, adding a cumulative 8.7 MTPA. This milestone makes UltraTech the world's largest cement company outside China. The new units are strategically located in Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Patratu (Jharkhand), and Vizag (Andhra Pradesh) to strengthen regional supply. The company's India capacity now stands at 200.1 MTPA, with a consolidated global capacity of 205.5 MTPA. UltraTech achieved its last 100 MTPA in less than seven years, demonstrating rapid growth. The company is also on track to reach 240+ MTPA with ongoing expansion projects backed by a capex of over ₹16,000 crore, while maintaining its commitment to sustainability.
