
Soufflet Malt & United Breweries to Build a New Malthouse in India
Soufflet Malt, the world’s leading maltster, and United Breweries Limited, part of the HEINEKEN Company and one of India’s largest beer manufacturers, have announced a new partnership to build a state-of-the-art malthouse in South Rajasthan, India. The new facility will provide high-quality malt for brewing of iconic beers such as Kingfisher and Heineken®, reflecting both companies’ commitment to delivering exceptional beer to consumers in India while supporting sustainable agriculture, job creation and regional economic growth. The malthouse will have a malt capacity of 110,000 tonnes per year in the first phase, with plans to double capacity during the second phase. The new facility will generate significant employment opportunities, create 400 direct and indirect jobs, and empower and train 50,000+ Indian farmers. The malt facility is designed with sustainability at its core, featuring zero liquid discharge systems and advanced water management initiatives.
