Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. Approves Proposal for New Green Steel Plant in Punjab

Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. has approved the proposal for setting up a new Green Steel plant in the State of Punjab for manufacturing of special and alloy steel. The new plant will have a billet production capacity of 500,000 MT per annum, with an investment of approximately Rs. 2000 Crores. The proposed capacity is to be added by FY 2029-30. The rationale behind this decision includes meeting the increased demand in future years, aligning with trends like Green Steel and Circular Economy, meeting higher level quality requirements of the OEMs, reducing the Cost of manufacturing steel, and diversifying into new products like Wire Rods, Forging & Non-Automotive segment.
