Vedant Fashions Pays ₹ 50,000 Compounding Fee for Legal Metrology Act Violation

Vedant Fashions Limited has paid a compounding fee of ₹ 50,000 as per the directions of the Senior Inspector, Department of Legal Metrology (Weight & Measures), Lahurabir, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, 221007. The violation pertains to non-disclosure of the size on the product label, observed during an inspection at one of the retail outlets. The Company submitted a request for compounding of the offence with a minimum applicable fee, to which the Authority issued a Notice directing the Company to deposit an amount of ₹ 50,000/- as compounding fee. The Company has complied with the directive and formally informed the Authority. Except for the compounding fee, there is no other impact on the financial or operation of the Company.
