Vedanta Ltd: GLAS Agency Discloses Encumbrance on 54.72% Shares

Vedanta Ltd has received a disclosure under SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares & Takeovers) Regulations, 2011, from GLAS Agency (Hong Kong) Ltd. GLAS, acting as an agent under a facility agreement, has disclosed the creation of an encumbrance over 2,139,794,759 equity shares of Vedanta Limited, representing 54.72% of the total share capital. These shares are held by Vedanta Resources Limited (VRL) through its subsidiaries. The encumbrance is related to a US$1,000,000,000 facility agreement dated July 15, 2026. The disclosure indicates that no Obligor or VRL group member shall create further security over these shares, and VRL group must retain control or own at least 50.1% of Vedanta Ltd's equity.
